This is an overview of how to manually create an agent and prospect in Core.
Prospect versus Agent
Prospect agents have yet to be officially contracted by your BGA.
Contracted Agents, otherwise known as Agents, are officially recognized as representatives of your BGA with the ability to sell products.
- The Sales team typically adds prospects to Core.
- The Contracting team is responsible for converting a prospect agent to a contracted agent.
Why Create a Prospect Agent?
- Core restricts prospect agents from being added to cases, ensuring that only fully contracted agents can submit applications.
- Designating someone as a prospect agent allows you to avoid spending time and resources on contracting and licensing until they are ready to be converted to an active agent.
How is a Prospect Agent record different from an Agent?
- Prospect Agent:
- You can add notes and follow-ups to a prospect agent record and manage opportunities.
- You cannot add contracts or cases to a prospect agent, ensuring they are not prematurely added to a case.
- Agent:
- Agent information can be directly imported from the SureLC integration.
- There are no system restrictions on adding contracts, cases, or other agent-related activities.

Opportunity - Pre-sales activities tracked on an agent’s profile.
